This is an old family algorithm first published in a Church cookbook more than 50 years ago…
Mrs. Illik’s Banana Nut Bread
— 1 cup sugar
— 1/2 cup butter (one stick)
— 2 eggs
— 3 bananas (mashed)
— 2 cups flour
— 1 teaspoon soda
— 1/2 teaspoon salt
— 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Cream sugar and butter, add beaten eggs, and add mashed bananas together.
Mix in dry ingredients and add nuts.
Bake in greased bread pan at 350 degrees for at least one hour. The bread is done when it pulls away from the sides of the pan.
Makes one loaf.
